This may be a stupid question but, when i disconnect my battery and then reconnect it is there any chance of the ecu resetting itself and wiping the remap off?

Thanks for any help

oh dear.....

speedinsaxo was speaking in jest (i hope), your remap will not be lost if you disconnect your battery.

i did do a quick search and there mixed answers. some say it did reset others said it would just reset your driving style  and others said nothing at all. only one way to find out i suppose the battery has got be disconnected so i shall pray nothing happens

to clarify.

It WILL NOT wipe the remap.

But it may RESET ECU adaptation. - this is where the ecu had adapted to temperature, fuel type used or air density etc. - this is probably where the confusion has come in. (not something to worry about)

However, one word of warning, you will probably need your radio code so check you have this before.

well i went for it earlier and disconnected the battery to fit my new cold air feed, and after a quick 25 mile drive it doesnt seem as fast as before. now this could be me being paranoid or it could be because the ecu has reset. if it has been reset does anyone know if it will take long i.e how many miles to get back to how it was before. thanks
