If I follow everything correctly then the diagram in the link in post 29 is the "preferred" way to connect the DV and in this case "any" spring will be OK.

My DV is connected opposite to this and in the OE orientation as far as I'm aware, in which case the spring is working against the boost pressure, hence a stiffer spring is required to keep the DV shut on higher boosted cars.

If the 007 is put in OE orientation then the spring is NOT acting against the boost pressure. In OE orientation the small vac nipple points straight up.

what are you running spring wise... as you have a similar turbo to mine?

what would you class as high boost?

they way i was told, its not so much about holding it shut, and weaker springs not managing. more the speed the valve operates.... so the spring Will make a difference.

faster the valve operates bigger the shock pressure wise to the turbo, only apparently a big issue on namby pamby IHI`s..

but providing its sealing, surely the softer spring would make everything smoother reguardless of turbo, nicer way of putting the power down.

Songman killed his IHI due to 007p with the wrong spring in it.

Just checked and mine is connected as per the diagram and as per OE DV.

Pat - I'm using APR R1 so whatever spring it has. From my experience it is "slower" than the bailey DV it replaced as there was less audible whoosh coming off boost in the hotside location. In fact after doing cold side relocation there is virtually no whoosh at all though I put this down to it being further away from the TIP/airbox.

Same as mine, although im running in usual situ and with an open cone and its not much quieter than the bailey was. Spring wise im told its equal to a green. Seems to work well and no sticking issues:)
