My Leon Test drives a brief rundown.

Well I have been having a nice break from work and as I am looking at new cars I decided to check out the Seat Leon as it is the right size for me and looks like a nice car.

I test drove:

Diesel 1.9 TDI Ecomotive - 105 PS.

Surprising torque right from down low upwards, nice and smooth, deffo a fair bit quicker than my current 90 BHP Classic petrol Megane.

Diesel 2.0 TDI Sport - 140 PS.

Very snappy performance from right down up to 4krpm, plenty of power really, felt even smoother than the 1.9 TDI and pulls hard.

Petrol 1.4 TSI - 125 PS.

Very smooth, the engine is very quiet I could only hear a slight hum and the wistle from the turbo, this did not have the same instant kick down low you get from the 2.0 TDI but when you gave it some revs it moved along nicely.

Get the FR 2.0 TDI, even more torque lol

Remember chaps the FR will have lower MPG, higher tax?, cost more, and higher insurance.

Don't know only had a short test drive in each, I was not driving economically.

All good engines IMO.

2.0 TDI was the one I liked best, deffo the fastest acceleration by a fair margin and instant power down low.

I have a 1.4Tsi Reference Sport, whilst no 2.0 Tdi it certaintly has enough grunt to enjoy and lower running costs.

It probably will piss you off..................................right up until you bite bullet, spend a few of your own hard earned quid and have it REVO remapped!!!!

I'm used to something much slower than the Eco which got about fine IMO, certainly not a slow car but it was quite a fair bit slower than the 2.0 TDI 140.

You will need to test drive the Ecomotive one to see the difference really.

Surely a remap is insurance declarable to stay legal (and covered)?
i.e the "any modifications carried out" question?
