I recently bought a VW MFD2 from Europe & plugged it into the quadlock wiring loom.
I entered the PIN code, but it came up with a SAFE pin message.

I've done a little search & found that I need the SAFE pin wired to a +12V supply (UB+ on the quadlock loom).

Do I need to splice into the constant or switched UB+?

I also needed to add a connection to the 'Safe' pin in the Quadlok connector which requires a constant +12V. I bought a cheapy Autoleads ISO harness and hacked a pin out of that with my Dremmel. This then slotted in to the relevant (unoccupied) space in the Quadlok connector, then I used a 'vampire' connector to tap in to the Red/Yellow wire which is a constant +12V (but please do check first!) Without the above connection made I couldn't enter the PIN...

Cheers...........;)

Me neither - and mine didn't have a factory fitted Nav previously

Have you had a look on VWNavi? theres a wealth of information on there, including a MFD2 specific forum :)

I've had a brief look on there. No doubt I'll be having a gander on there more frequently now!:D

Anyway, the SAFE pin is sorted. I just looped a cable from the UB+ terminal into the SAFE terminal.
Everything working now.
Just need to get my head round navigating the MFD2 now!!!
