Hi Guys and girls

i am after more noise from my exhaust and have herd the phase mufflerectomy alot and read this as the explaination
SOURCE THE URBAN DICTIONARY

1. Mufflerectomy

The act of totally removing the muffler and resonator from a vehicle and replacing with straight pipes, thus reducing the restrictions on exhaust flow, and giving the car a deeper, nicer exhaust sound. Usually done when new performance mufflers either do not exist or are too expensive.

rich: Dude, there aren't any sport exhaust systems for my Jetta TDi.

Stefan: Don't worry about that crap, just give it a mufflerectomy.

so i like the sound of this now. (pun not ment)

i have been quoted £90 to have it done and was wondering if this is the going rate?

or does anyone know a good place (around the south west) that could beat that price?

many thanks

Andy

Mufflerectonomy is what you already have Andy. As fair as I know that's just were you cut the back box off and cut in a straight pipe. Which you've done. Taking the cat off with make slightly quicker turbo spool, much louder noise and more smoke/smell sadly! You've more than likely heard mine? Think it sounds quite good for a derv to be honest.
