Hi guys,
here's another odd thing I found with it, if i remove the fuse that controls the interior lights the central locking works properly, no clicking noise, and if i disconnect the wiring to the dashboard dimmer switch it works properly too, but obviously none of the lights work on the climate control or the door switches, it's totally baffling me, why does my tailgate solenoid click too??

Hi guys,
Even more strange happenings with the remote central locking, if i remove the fuse from the interior lights the car will lock normally but the alarm does not activate, and if i remove the connector from the dash illumination switch, again it will work but not alarm and obviously i have no illumination for the climate control or door switches!! :censored: and why does my boot solenoid click when the comfort module clicks!

Yeah, we haven't got the same prob at all. Yours sounds like quite a serious electrical fault in the car somewhere.

Everything else about my car/fob is working fine. I just can't unlock ALL the doors on a double click like I could before she went into the stealers.

I still believe there has to be a very sensible (and fixable) reason.

Yea I sorta guessed mine could be serious! Does anyone know if there are any wiring diagrams in existance for these cars?? I understand Haynes never produced a manual and a lot of people use the Golf IV book for mechanical stuff but not sure if the electrics are the same, any ideas??

Cheers mate,
Can't seem to sort mine out at all, it's just passed it's MOT so obviously not safety related or anything but would be good to sort it!
Changing the subject completely, the car originally failed its MOT on a CV joint boot, they fixed it but now my brake pad wear indicator light stays on, could it be they just forgot to re-connect a lead??

Yeah that could be the case, or they may have caught or trapped the wire on something. Best bet, whip the wheel off and have a quick look, check the brakes whilst you're there too.

Ive got the same problem with the locking press the button once to unlock the drivers door and press twice and should unlock the rest but it doesnt work

So from reading this it looks like a tripp to the stealers and them relieving me of 60 notes then  buggar

Hi guys,
you all seem to mention pressing the button once only opens the drivers door, when i press my button once it opens all doors, is this connected to my (many) other central locking problems do you think??
Seat Adam, yes mate, whipped the wheel off and re-connected the wire they said they never disconnected!!

No mate it all depends on how your module is set up. You can change this setting with vagcom amongst others.
