Knocking noise from dv

Howdy-do, right my car is off the road at the moment and decided to purchase a few bits n bobs for my car ready to go on when it is running, i purchased a brand new forge 007p dv and my friend wanted to see what it was like so i stuck it on his car which has just had a k04 turbo conversion on it (ibiza mk3), he replaced his standard bosch one with the forge, turned on the ignition and the dv was making a horrible knocking noise. i have been searching for AGES on this and as soon as i type in "dv" sh*t loads of threads turn up. I wanted to know if anyone has had this problem before or is it my friends car and not the dv which is the problem? Thanks for help n suggestions (not opinions lol)

All I can think of with this problem mate is possibly it may be rubbing or knocking on the air con pipes on the rear of the engine bay bulkhead maybe?

nah hes removed his aircon pipes, dont understand why it was making this noise?
anyone have any suggestions on this. please speak up!

the noise is actually coming from inside the dv, but on the original it doesnt make a noise whatsoever...

have you taken it apart and checked inside..?? Is it only on boost gear change or on idle aswell.?

Is it knocking on idle?

I was messing about with my splitR the other day and it was knocking/tapping on idle if it was't lined up properly. And by that I mean the adjustment bit on top.

Also I noticed if I pinched the vac line just with my fingers, this would stop the knocking. Try them two options.

yer it was knocking on idle, he didnt want to drive with it like that because he was worried he would break it?! taken what apart and checked inside...the dv? thought they were just - buy it, take old dv off, replace with forge007p, job done?

I would say the adjustment bit isn't alligned properly then. Make sure it's 'clicked' in properly.

I am sure the one I sold the other month had adjustment on it. Might be wrong mind.

Ahh see mate, my mistake. The vac line connection spins around 360 degrees if space is tight to fit it, not for adjustment.

Try pinching the vac line with your fingers and see if that stops the knocking. When I noticed mine was knocking, it was the actual valve inside moving up and down, vibrating infact. When it wasn't knocking, this valve stayed still.

the 007p doesnt have any adjustment on it is only the split-r that does the 007p is a fully reserc valve...on the top where the vac line goes onto it unscrews so you can change the spring if need be and for maintanance of the valve. Id have a look and make sure all is well there...and when u say knocking do you mean fast slow dies it do it if you rev it..??

just knocking with the engine noise, if we revvd it it would increase. not touching ANYTHING so dont have a scooby doo wats wrong. pinched the hoses around and it didnt make a difference

there no reason for it to knock the way u describe it. There nothing that could knock al thats inside it is a spring a piston type system id say take it apart and have a look..
