Hi Guys
I've had a PD100 for some time now, I'm pretty sure that I had about 120-125mph out of it however I've had it remapped and now I only seem to hit around 118mph and after that it goes into limp mode.

Whats the fastest you've had out of your PD100's?

I know according to Parkers its 118mph but Parkers is never right. My 1.2 did about 115mph and on parkers I'm sure it was listed as 102mph.

Most speedos are optimistic, up to 10% is not uncommon, so your indicated 100 could be actually low 90s. (Private road presumably!)

hehe, I got pulled by the police and after slowing down he said I was doing 98, and I dropped some speed.

but its more the 1.9 I'm interested in and yes the 1.9 was on private roads, I'm not risking a ban.

Hi,
I know this may sound silly, but switch of the cruise control,I have found that when cruise control is on,it does not go passed 118mph or around that due to the limiter on the cruise control. My car went into limp mode(engine management did not go on) when cruise was on and tried to accelerate past that speed.I have found after a remap I can do more than 118 and prior to remap,120 was around all I could do.When I say swtich cruise off,put the rocker swtich on the "off" switch.
Yes speeds are inaccurate, the faster you go,the more inaccurate they are
Check your speed with gps (navi)its more accurate.
Who did your remap?

Haha, ok. So do you have cruise on your ibiza? Also, im going to fit it next week - would you be willing to tell me ho to use it, as I dont have a clue?

On-topic, yes, speedos tend to overread by 5% +2mph, but can go up to 10% +2mph. Try checking the accuracy with GPS on a STRAIGT road, as gps is inacurate if you are going round any sort of corner.

Yeah I do have cruise,I think its well worth it!.im sure you know the indicator stalk would be replaced by the cruise stalk. The cruise stalk would have a rocker switch(on and off).To prime the cruise control,as you may have guess, have to place the rocker on the " on" position.then once at the desired speed(I think it works from 25mph to 115-120 mph) press the top button on the end of the stalk, this will switch the cruise on.Once on,you can control your speed conventionally with the pedals(accelerator pedal to accelerate) or use the top button to accelerate.(tap on button would increase by 1mph per press I think) and holding the top button would increase speed indefinitely until top speed of cruise has been reached.

The bottom button does the same but to slow down.Im sure the bottom button disables the cruise system.Either way, when you press the clutch or brake pedal,it would disable the system(as an emergency protocol).

Thats about it i think.
Best thing to do,if you are stuck, is to check your car manual-because all features ,whether you have it or not will be in there and how to operate them.

But, once you have it installed,it may take one or two times to work it out,but after that im sure you would have it working fine.At first I thought it would be a pain,as there is no display to indicate if the cruise is enabled(would be nice if there was)however, its really easy to get it working and trust me its worth it!

Hope this helps
Any questions,please ask!
cheers

Thanks ramzy! Im sure I would have worked it out, but as im fitting it myself I was affraid I wouldnt know if it was working correctley or not!

no prob mate.
Actually,Ive made in error in one of the things I had said. The bottom button on the cruise stalk is the button named "set",that will enable and disable the cruise. As far as fitting it ,im afraid il be no help, but I guess you could just try it and if it works then im sure that's it,if not,im sure there will be someone on the forum that will be able to help fit or point you in the right direction.Hope it works out for you!

My copper mate said never trust SatNav for speed as it's jut not accurate. They found that out testin gthe cop cars.

They are more accurate than your cars speedo, As long as they have enough satellites they can triangulate your position to create an accurate speed.
