130 tdi sport vs 100 tdi sport

True, but the sport could be 100bhp or 130bhp before the facelift (04). I think you could also get a 1.4 petrol sport?

The easiest way to tell is by the 6th gear. You can also look at the badges on the boot and engine cover, 130 has a red 'di' and the 100 has a red 'i'. Be aware that people can change the badges though.

If you are intrerested do a HPI check. Saved me from buying a stolen 130 sport last november.

They stopped doing the 130bhp Sport after 2004 When they introduced the FR badge which took the PD130 engine, before that the sport could be either PD100 or PD130

And the FR has a different gearbox to the FR. ;)

I'm not just saying this because I own one, but the 130 Sport's are one of the best in the range I'd say.

130's also have the dual reflector headlights, 100's only have a single reflector.

I prefer the gearing on the 130 Sport to the FR (but I may be biased :p )

Isnt the gearing only diferent for the 6th gear? And I thought the 100 sports had the twin headlights? I know the 100 se had twin headlights (03 reg)
SE's had twins, 100 Sports have singles.

There are some wrong'uns out there, so usual advice is to get a vehicle check done.

Thats advertised as a 100, yet has 6 speed and twin headlights. Yet, its group 5 insurance (100 bhp, not 7 for the 130bhp) and the vehicle check comes back as an "Ibiza Diesel Hatchback 100", Colour "unknown", and Body Type "Data Not Provided", which are warning signals. It has 138 co2, so everything points to it being a 130, apart from their description as a 100 and the group 5 insurance.

At the very least do a Vehicle Licence Check (tax disc) ( http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk ) which will give you the co2, which will indicate if its 100 (132 co2) or 130 (138 co2).

Now I am confused
plus that add lists the ibiza as 5 speed in the first line then 6 speed at the end!

:( My local friendly SEAT salesman tells me.People are always buying the red lettering for their TDI badge on the back.So they can pretend they have a 130 instead of a lesser model.Says the mechanics (when servicing) never go on the badging anymore. They just look for the traction control button and 6 spd gearlever.
I've even seen people on here, asking where they can buy the red letters.Whatever turns you on.

I've taken my badges off altogether so they don't know what it is until you use the load pedal! :D

Haha! I love owning cars that I really shouldn't be able to! It seems to make their blood boil even more when they find out it's a derv. :D
