Is there nothing you can do to tune it up engine wise except air filter, cold air injection and a performance exhaust ? i've been looking around and no body will touch the engine with remapping or chips or anything just because its a 1.4 standard petrol engine...

seems like i need a 1.8T to get anywhere with a tune up =(

Sounds about right mate. The 1.4 is pretty untunable apart from air filters etc. Go for handleing mods to make the most of what speed you can get going into corners and carrying that speed on. Coilovers, strut braces and ARB's are the best places to start

to be honest mate with the amount of work involved your better off just buying a cupra. Save yourself the time, money and hassle, unless you like a challenge?

there is no point putting a 20vt in just buy a cupra be cheaper... The insurance would be more aswell because it would be seen as heavily modified over standard power etc...
