I am absolutly fuming with Whiteline to start:censored:[:@][:@]
Just been outside for quite sometime fitting my rear ARB and go to the last thing which is fitting the U bolts and yet again they sent me the wrong part. First they send me nuts too small for the U bolts now I realise the U bolt is over an inch too short to start with?! There is no way this is the correct part!
Is it safe to run the car with just the new drop links or do I have to take them off as well. I am so pissed off as it has been windy all day and raining off and on and now I have nothing to show for it. Need to be up early in the morning to drive to Brands so need to know asap please help:(

IIRC, these drop links are bolted on to the rear beam by the rear damper bolts???

if the bolts are on tight, should be alright to leave them on i'd of thought?

got a pic?

Yeh I think it will be fine they are as you described but I am just making sure as have a long drive in the morning. They will be fine I hope, just tightened them up and left them for now had another play but there is no way the U bolts fit slightly concerned about all the parts now if 2 parts are wrong I am a little paranoid now!

there can't be many bits they can get wrong
am i right in thinking the other parts are;
2 U bolts, with nuts
2 brackets
2 rubber bushes

oh........ and the bar

have you checked the packaging, have they sent you the right kit?
have you tried the brackets and U bolts in a different orientation?

you probably have, just a thought......

who supplied the kit, have you called them?
they may require you send them the whole kit back rather than sending you replacemnet parts, but if they do, remove the parts mon / tues, quick wipe over , back in the box :D
make sure they pay for the item to be collected if they want the whole kit back ;)

If the two bolts on the bottom of the shocks are in but the u-bolts that hold it to the beam aren't i'd recomend jubilee clips or cable ties. Just to make sure it doesn't swing down and drag along the floor!

don't think she's fitted the bar, just the drop links that link the bar to the damper bolts;)

If all she's missing is the u-bolts shown there:

Then they can just be replaced with the jubilee clips for a little while.

But if its just got the droplinks dangling like this:

Then no, it wont do any harm just to leave them dangling but take out the lower bush incase it gets lost.

Yes I have not fitted the bar itself at all The instructions with it are a bit wrong one of the pics shows the short bolt going through to the chassis and the long bolts going through the bar?! The letter from Awesome that came with it just says Fab/IB4/Polo 9N+9N2+GTI which sounds right to me. Seems the bag with the parts in have been messed up as before fitting I realise the nuts for the U bolts were too small now I realise the U bolts are too short. I tried moving them all over but the chassis bar is too thick for these U bolts as it recommend trimming them after fitting?!

tom 167 them drop links look very different to other pictures i have seen of these.
aimez i take it your works workshop dont have any bolts that fit i know thats the last thing you should have to do as the correct bolts should have been sent but it could be a sollution.

sounds like the right kit according to the paperwork, but you've been sent the wrong fitting kit and U bolts.........

take the bushes out the bottom as said above. they may seem tight in place but bumps and road vibration will dislodge them!

hope Awesome sort this out quickly for you! :D

No idea just nicked someone else's pics lol :p

Be quite hard to source u-bolts, easiest thing i would recomend is get youself down motorserv/halfrauds and see what size exhaust clamps are available!

Yes I actually printed that pic off to help me fit this and everything looks the same can't see the size of the U bolts there thou.
When the wrong nuts were sent I was going to get some from work but the right ones came yesterday morning and tbh I 'd rather have the ones designed for this. My work workshop is closed untill Monday now and tbh truck U bolts for ARBs are HUGE!lol
Well the other nuts and bolts seem to fit okay. I will pop the bushes out so they don't get lost then good idea thanks people. I have chilled a bit now was in proper evil woman of doom mode earlier thanks for your help guys! Am worried I will get sent the wrong exhaust next week as well the way things are going!
I will not bother with this now fed up with the thing now don't even wan to look at it! The weather is quite bad now as well.

Doesn't seem to make any difference if you are a dealer, we're 2 mins down the road from DCUK's parts depot for the UK and still takes ages to get things lol.

Volvos are nice and easy compared to the mercs tho.

We'll have to try and and get an SCN attendance at Truckshow lol.

Not normally anything to do with the supplier (awesome in this case) it comes from some shed in italy or the likes then they just post it out to you after they recieve it.

Yeh I know it is not there fault which is worse as I want to have a go at someone!lol

Someone I used to work with worked for Mercedes trucks and he said Volvo are easier to work on yes.
Our V.O.R parts are great you can order up until 6pm I think and get the parts the next morning at 6am. Anyway off topic now oops I will update this thread as soon as I speak to Awesome on Monday as said I am not slating them Sarah was great when I said the nuts were the wrong size really helpful.
