Hey Guys.

As some of you may know, I've recently gone hybrid and have had a lot of problems. I'm thinking about upgrading ALL my intercooler pipework, even the stuff that's not normally replaced (going from the turbo going down the back of the engine).

Does anyone have ETKA and can post pics of the pipework diagrams? I doubt there's dimensions on there is there?

Any help is appreciated. Cheers guys!

Thanks fella! That's spot on. So the only OEM pipework I have left is that S shaped bit right under the turbo. As the top ones havent gone (and will be replaced soon with aftermarket pipework) The pipework that runs along the bottom of the engine is metal so that should be ok.....so not unless that S shape has split, all is fine. :(

looks like it! unless one of the other pipes is leaking

The rest of the pipes were off yesterday so I doubt it's them. I cranked them up pretty tight too!

It would be that bloody pipe wouldn't it! [:@] Pain in the arse to get to! :(

try allards as my fmic came with all the new pipework replaced:)

Do you reckon you could get in touch saying you split that hose and can they send a replacement? :D I have got in touch with them already but about something different. ;)

If I replace the back intercooler pipework - should I stick a screamer pipe on the turbo aswell? :D

Sooty22 - have Allards put an air filter on your turbo to make it chatter? Or is it just cos it's ball bearing turbo or something? Cos it sounds awesome. :D

IIRC Chris is still running the standard airbox but with a uprated panel filter.

Yeh but you'd run that ASWELL as. ;) That just goes on the turbo, it's got nothing to do with the air intake to the engine. On a turbo you have an open side normally, the filter goes on there instead I think.

A open cone filter (like that in the pic) replaces the airbox, and these go on one side of the turbo then the intercooler pipework goes on the other side of the turbo.

There is never a open side of a turbo.

What are you on about? On a turbo theres an intake side and an exhaust side. The turbo bolts to the manifold, the exhaust bolts to the turbo, and the air goes in the intake side. That picture you posted just shows an air filter fitted straight to the turbo. On my car there is a turbo inlet pipe between the filter and the turbo, its the same principle. So umm... what are you on about again? I'm confusing myself here lol

Unless of course, I've got the wrong end of the stick completely!

Oh yeh.

That'd just be stupid.

My excuse is - I've been up since half 4 - it's now 10:45pm, that's 18 hours? Maybe?

There are 4 sides to a turbo actualy, Rich.

Exhaust inlet side (1) that actualy drives the compressor turbine and exits through the exhaust (2) that 'sucks' the air in through the filter (3) that is then forced out (4) through to the intercooler, which feeds the inlet manifold.
