Pd confusion?

what does the Pd stand for on the 1.9tdi pd fr and is it any different to the normal fr

It stands for pump düse, it's german for pump injector. All the 1.9 TDI engines in the MK4 Ibiza are PD

I used to think it stood for Poxy Derv

Only the face lift FR model comes with FR on the gear knob abd FR on the steering wheel iirc..

if by "all the FR models" you mean Ibiza, Leon, Altea then yes...however, as above, pre-facelift Ibizas didn't come with them along with the letter mk1 Leon FR's

I need to test drive one, i'm still no convinced after a stint in a mk5 Golf 1.9TDI as a company runabout. Torque, yes a dream for stop start traffic. But the noise... and the smell when filling up...

But i cant complain about its tunability and power output now.

yep that what the bloke I worked with said and he used to work for VW as a tech
