Well hope someone can help I have a 07 Leon FR with bluetooth. I have been using my ipod through the aux socket but I am getting fed up changing track etc from the ipod and having to hide it away everytime you park anywhere. So I bought the dension ipod kit from Seat and surprise surprise it didn't work. I sent it back and checked the internet and ordered a dension GW15VC1 but it went on to back order and has now been replaced by a GW16VC1 but I can only find 2 places on the net that sell it and no one has it in stock. One place says within a week but it's £170 and I thought that was steep for what it is. Anyway looked ay a connect 2 ipod interface but no text or track info facility. So next option was to change the headunit for a pioneer double din and have found one and aerial adapter and steering wheel adapter but no one can comfirm 100% how I can get my bluetooth to work properly I have spent ages reading through all other posts and someone confirms they have done it with Alpine. Sorry to bore you all with this just hoped someone will know the answer.

nickp has the best ipod set up on here, but itll knock you back a bob or two to copy it.

nah mate, if you haven't purchased a unit already then get yourself an Alpine headunit! Always use them since I've been running an Ipod in car.

I'm about to install their latest double din unit the W502R. Set you back £600 but does everything you could possibly want, including a very good bluetooth set up. I think it does integrate with the factory bluetooth in vag cars.

I would speak to Alpine themselves or an audio specialist. There are many ipod set ups you can go for.

just thought I'd point out that apparently the Seat Ipod connecter is poo in terms of how limited it is!! i.e. you can only play 6 playlists (the first 5 playlists saved, and 'NOW PLAYING', and not browse the artists (if I remember correctly)

I used to have a double din JVC unit in my old one (for sale by the way ) which had an iPod connector with FULL compatability, so I could browse artist, album, playlist etc (everything) with my steering wheel controls - this was when I didn't have bluetooth (so there were extra stereo controls where the phone buttons are), so now I wouldn't be able to browse with my steering wheel anyway, JUST skip track with the ones on the right. . .

now I have an armrest with my ipod in there. SO much better in my opinion, it's not hard to pull over to change artist (like you would have to with a cd) unless you're DESPERATE to be able to skip through 5 playlists, I'd recommend this setup

and if you want to skip track just flip the armrest and press next, easy to do without looking and takes 0.5 seconds more than it would on the steering wheel . . .

Take a look at the Pionner P4100DVD, if your not bothered about sat nav, then this is also a good unit, fully ipod compatable, bluetooth, plenty of rear outs etc.

It'll set you back around £500, then with the ipod cable + extra cable for steering wheel controls and fitting brackets etc you are looking at just short of £600
A good unit for the money though and it plays DVD's

If you have the cash and want satnav then Alpine do another version called the W505r, I was going to opt for this but already have my trusty tom tom.

Well decided to go for the dension ipod interface at £170 as I was not willing to lose my bluetooth function as I use it often. Thanks for all info and suggestions. Kev
