Decided to sell as much as I can to part fund the big turbo kit I desire. Going to try and sell the SEM manifold, Backdraft baffled sump, Pro Alloy intercooler plus once the new kit is fitted the hybrid GT2X, Tigart manifold, Milltek 3" downpipe, LCR injectors, etc.

I've worked it out that if I sell everything I can, the 325bhp Backdraft big turbo kit is within my reach, so I want to go for it!!!

Makes sense! The backdraft kits do look good and are very well priced. I'm surprised your parting with the big pro alloy cooler though, isn’t it regarded as one of the best for “bigger” turbo kits? Like the one you’re going for?

I'm confused Rob

what basis did you remove the PA kit for? I have this fitted and it's huge. I understand its rated to 450bhp or there abouts

if you are going BT, why did you change this? did you do any logs and were not happy with the results?

Loving the new look of the car rob esp as its in the nicest colour. Been constantly reading the build thread over the last few years on here and the old se forum its like a totally different car.

What power is your car just now? 290bhp mark?

You must be taking frightfully a big hit on all the stuff you've bought new then sold on again to fund the big turbo kit? Not to mention all the changes over the years.

Don't need it, I have a bar and plate intercooler rated to 350bhp, aiming for 325bhp with no intention of going further, so I don't need the PA intercooler. just because it's huge and rated to 450bhp doesn't make it necessary, smaller bar and plate IC will be more efficient for my intended power level.

Many thanks. Around 290 yes. Too big yes, that's why I'm calling time on more spending soon and calling it a day, this is the last push to get the car 100% as I want it in all aspects.

so you have logged how efficient the old PA kit was Vs. your new setup?

You definetly on the right track as far as the BDM kits is concered. Mark and Alex are fantastic chaps who really looked after me. As you know I bought the GT2871 kit from them and was gob smacked by the good quality of the kit. One thing you will really appreciate is the design of the manifold which has a good point flow.

If I was you I'd still keep the SEM manifold as that will give you better performance and have that tunned with your 70mm TB + the BDM kit.

Bill will be putting on the final touches on my car and a customized stage 3 Map on the 28/29th of this month. Once the cars mapped I will give you guys an update.

By the way are you going for the smaller housing or the bigger housing with the GT2860 kit?

If I keep the SEM then I can't afford the kit - can't have both! If I kept them SEM due to not being able to sell it then I'll just have to stick with what I have. (or maybe switch to the BDM hybrid K04-023 setup)

I'd be going for the smaller 0.64 A/R as I'd rather have fast spool than top end.
