Another air-filter thread

I'm sorry for another air filter thread, but I really nead a straight answer on this question.

The thing is, I got a "Green Cotton Powerflow" filter and I would like to mount it like the picture show. But with a polished pipe and silicone hoes. The question is:
Can I leav the original "filterbox" empty? I mean remove the original filter completely?

Is there any cons?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you understood. I want to keep the "filter box" but leave it empty. I can not afford a new intake kit and a new cover. Therefor I want to keep to old engine cover (with the filter box) and use my green cotton filter

In front of a PC....
Not really sure what you are getting at. You can remove the original filter box and put the Induction filter in without the need to remove the engine cover and pipework. From what I can see in the picture it looks like the original filter and airbox has been removed and the Induction kit has been put in its place.

I'm sorry for missleading you guys. It's late.. ;)

To make It simple. I want to remove the filter (under the plastic engine cover), and just wondering if it was OK. I mean It must be unnessasary to have two filters..
