Outside temp sensor

Just wondering if anyone can tell me where the outside temperature sensor is on the ibiza cupra?

The temperature display on the centre console fluctuates between -7 and +3 degrees C, even when its about 10c outside.

Thanks!

The sensor on my dad's 1.4S broke a few years back and it was reading temps like -40C! Arnold Clark tried to tell him he needed a whole new stereo unit as that was where the temp was displayed. Of course he knew it wasn't the case, so didn't go ahead with it.

Thanks for the advice, got the new temp sensor the other day, it had been replaced before.

Still the readout is being funny, noticed when I cut the wiring back, the copper in the black wire was a little stiff and the copper had gone black.
Going to take the door card off and replace the rest of the cabling soon.

Just thought id post up what I did today, as iv noticed a few people replaced the sensor like I did and are/were still expiriencing problems.

I fitted the new sensor last week, I did it the short way by cutting the cabling inside the wingmirror.

I was still getting fluctuating temperatures from -30 to +40c.

When I fitted the sensor, I noticed the black wire was pretty brittle, and the copper cable inside had gone black... which usually means the wire is burnt.

I thought id get away with it because for most applications the wire would still be usable, but for a sensor that works on tight resistance variables, it wasnt reliable at all... thus fluctuating the readings still.

The only way round this is to replace the wiring for the sensor.

I removed the door card (see the guide on the main site), and removed the wingmirror.

I cut the black and brown wires before the plug to the wingmirror inside the door.
Solderd a new black and brown wire, fed it up the door, through into the wingmirror housing and then solderd onto the sensor.

Powerd the headunit back up, was reading -30 but rapidly rose to +11 degrees, where it stabalised.

Re-fitted the wingmirror housing and doorcard.

Thats another thing off the list with the new car, there were quite a few little things broken like the temp sensor, but im abit of a perfectionist and iv GOT to have everything working, its quite good aswell because im learning things rapidly about the ibiza.
Iv sorted about 10things so far, only thing left is to sort the rubbing from the steering wheel, and the bodywork (needs a full spray, but wont be for a few months)

Hi guys, my gf`s mk3 reads 10 degrees lower than it should, think I`ll get her a new sensor... is it difficult to
replace?

It`s a pain as she can`t use the air-con unless it`s actually 15 degrees outside!
