LHD to RHD

Hi,

Apologies I have been away for 2 years, so much so that I have lost my login and pw.

Starting from scratch anyway=
I am coming back to the UK with a LHD Altea that is still UK registered (don't ask...).
I need to get it through its first MOT but the car is 100% LHD.
I know I need to change the headlights to RHD ones which is cheap and easy.

Does anyone know what the score if regarding the rear fog lights though. They are obviously on the wrong side and I need to swap sides with the reversing lights, I think.
Does anyone know what to do ? Do I need new parts ? Is it DIYable ?

Anything else to get the car MOT compliant ???

Thanks a lot.

Nick

change rear lights and swap the wiring over is one way

speedo reading in mph might be the only other thing i can think of ?

Of course, I forgot the speedo... Do you know if a properly calibrated sticker set is acceptable for te MOT or so I actually need to change the speedo, or maybe just the face ? Thx for quick reply btw !!!

Don't quote me mind but from memory i believe it is fine on motorbikes but not cars but don't ask me why though just rememeber asking or hearing it from an SVA/MOT tester

might be worth asking if lockwood etc would do a speedo overlay in mph/kph?

There's no F in Quality..
There rear fog light and reverse light on the Altea are down in the bumper and are not part of the light clusters ;)

I don't think it actually matters which 'side' the lights are on, as long as you actually have them.....

My RHD Altea has the reverse on the near-side, and the fog on the off-side, if that helps.....

has to be either central or to the outside of the vehicle or even both sides of course

using uk ones sounds like it could easy enough to swap round though

The speedo must be graduated in mph, marked @ every 20mph, dents at 10's

I think it'll be only lights you need to do
