Am I missing something the exterior looks hardly any different, not like the orange car earlier in the thread. The interior looks much better though hope they've sorted the horrible plasticky trim out!

Orange ones the FR, the grey one above is the normal models.

But I agree, I dont think it's different enough for me to hold off from buying one. Might as well just get a current shape one for a good price

Have you got any information about NEW facelifted Leon Cupra ? At the Geneva Motor Show Seat showed only FR with 211 hp.

Are they going to put the same engine or mayby more power ?

thanks,
Peter

The audi S3 remained the same power output when it upgraded to the ea888 2.0tsi architecture engine at facelift so I will presume that it will be the same for the the cupra.

No way there will be a power update

Dont count on it imo. They might list it as having 5 extra PS or something silly like that but I dont think you will see a gain of 15 or more hp.
The car already makes over 260 hp stock anyway, and if the S3 didnt get a power update then its very unlikely hey will let SEAT have one.

It would make sense.
Only 40bhp less than the Focus RS and still £4k cheaper I expect.
Better MPG too.
I think the Cupra would be slightly faster remapped too.

I have heard on the grapevine the new facelift Cupra will adopt a 260hp engine, whether it's creative marketing or a brand new engine is yet to be seen.
Z your grapevines are more accurate than most. That will make an excellent car even better. I can't wait to see it. If only they can make a unique body kit for it.

If the new Cupra produces 260bhp then it could just be the same as the current one with many Cupras producing around 260bhp stock anyway

Indeed, that's why I say creative marketing. ;)

Face-lifted Leon's (including new FR) are expected to be surfacing in the UK around September time, the Cupra won't be amongst them though, maybe early 2010 before we see it in the UK.

Sounds about right, a mate of mine was enquiring about Leon's earlier in the week and the dealer said September.

They'll probably go on sale along side the new Ibiza Cupra then.

I was very close to putting a deposit down on a new faclifted Cupra and was told i would be looking at mid June for delivery.

I would be very surprised if they could deliver. Everything I've heard indicates that it will be much later in the year at the earliest even early 2010. We might see the Cupra's press release by the summer but I doubt the car would be available.
