Tried two switches now, the lights still coming on and no brake lights

seems to have done it since was towing a trailer, noticed the brake lights werent working on the trailer and when taking the plug apart some of the wires were flapping about inside.

worried its damaged something, but all fuses look ok. i replaced the bulbs just in case too.

Could it have blown the relay maybe?

any ideas anyone? am gettin desperate!

What sort of trailer wiring adaptor kit have you used - you have not just wired into the existing lamps to power the trailer lights at the same time? I don't know exactly how these systems work but the pedal switch connects into a controller for various reasons - then there must be some sort of device to buffer this controller from any wiring/loading problems - well there should be!

na it was a proper connector. has the factory fitted towing ball kit on it, removable jobby fitted by seat from new.

i think the dodgy wiring on the trailer connected might have disturbed something! all wiring looks fine tho.

Check that you are reading the fuse locations correctly, I think that the sticker on the inside of the fuse box lid needs to be looked at on it's side to marry up with the fuses.

If its the same as the Polo, I'd say that its for the LHD car and that means it could be a mirror image of what would be handy!
