Hello all,

I am thinking of getting a Piper 2.5" cat back system, link below, but i am afraid it will should like those really annoying boy racers that have cherry bomb exhausts strapped to the back of the 1.1 saxo's

http://www.pipercams.co.uk/exhaustshop/product_info.php?products_id=4331

i checked out a few post on youtube for the sound, but again it was full saxo's and fiesta's with it fitted!!

Has anyone any input, i am looking for a nice sporty/powerful sound but nothing too crazy!

Thanks

Rob

I think you will find most exhaust for the lcr are quite nice. Not to loud. a nice note from them all. Piper has no centre box. What about blueflame as they have a centre box so I bit quieter.

well happy with my blueflame catback cant recommend it enough. sounds nice throughout the rev range without sounding or indeed looking like 1.1 saxo with big bore back box!

in my opinion blueflame tailpipe design is the best for LCR.

I have a full piper system inc down pipe and cat on my leon cupra, at tickover it's slightly louder with a nice deep burble. Normal driving it's not too loud and cruising at 70mph it's not much louder then the standard exhaust.
Different story when you boot it, I think it sounds like a large cc motorbike (1300cc), it sounds great and nothing like your saxo or civic exhaust.

I see your from Tipp, I'm up in Dublin :)

What is the difference between the Piper cat back and blueflame cat back, the both have the same 6x4 oval and around the same price.?

Neil,

We should organise an Irish meet/session for SCN!! although, i think i have seen only 3 LCR's in ireland in the past 4 years.

cheers

I don't know the details of the blueflame system at all.

As for a meet, get on to vagdrivers.net, plenty of owners on there and loads of meets around the country, usually monthly meets and there is a big show coming up in Limerick in May.

Neil.

Well i ordered the Blueflame cat back system,i did check out previous owner problems but they all seemed to relate to issues a few years back and have been addressed by blueflame since.

From the youtube vids i seen the piper seemed a bit too loud for what i was looking for, its always hard to tell from video though.

Anyway it ordered now, hopefully i will like the sound, if not check out the for sales section in a few weeks!!!

thanks to all for there input

take into consideration that once its fitted it'l take a good few weeks before it reaches its sound potential.

mine took 2-3 weeks to carbon and sounds ace now!

cant wait to get dp and decat fitted. any news on that nev not had it delivered yet?
