i no ive harped on about my cupra and its aparant lack of power, but i went out with my mate tonight and he thought it seemed alot faster than it said it was doing, so..... How many revs should a cupra be doing at 110mph in 5th gear? On a private road ofcourse...

My 16 valve cupra seems to me to be really long geared. When I am doing 70 its is only at 2500 rpm bang on. It struggles to go into 5th unless your doing above 60 mph.

how much did it cost to get that final drive fitted then dinky? you car must accelerate like a B*stid! and kiwi16v, my 16v will pull from 30mph on a flat road in 5th fairly well (no where near as good as an 8v can!)

Link for you http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=129924&highlight=final+drive

All the information you need is on there..... I ended up buying the final drive new from VW (£220) because I was having trouble finding a box and knowing my luck the gears would have been f*cked in it!

I've forgotten how it pulls now, missing it now lol...... problem after problem getting it back on the road.

My old cordy would crack 3 figures in 3rd if you pushed for it. As for the top speed the needle went to the wrong side of 140mph (from a health and safety persons) perspective.

Its first owner was the manager of a tuning company though so although i had nothing to prove other wise it may not have been totally standard.
