Hi All,

Quick question, I've got a remapped MK4 FR Tdi but am thinking of swapping it for a MK3 1.8T Cupra.

Mine's got 100k miles on the clock with full service so is probs worth about £3k. How much you reckon I could pick up a Cupra for? Had a quick look on autotrader and there are a few knocking about....

I'm going to college in September so can't afford to spend more money if that makes sense so would want to basically swap it. I think insurance might be a little bit more as well but will have to get a quote.

Just wondered what peoples opinions were on this?

Cheers,
Ross

You can pick them up fairly cheap at the moment, and probably sell your TDI quite easily, do it! i would suggest trying to get a bit more than 3k together for a cupra though, in the long run it will save you alot more

Hmm yeah well my mate keeps joking about buying mine off me so I'll see if he's serious as he's got the cash!

I toyed with the idea of getting the MK4 1.8T but don't think I could afford it and I do like the look of the MK3! I'll just have to keep checking on here and auto trader and see if anything pops up. Not desperate to change just fancy something different as nearly had my FR for a whole year! Had a PD100 for 3 months and then swapped that in for my FR. This is the longest I've had one! I know, stupid!

Cool, did you spend more when you changed or did you save some? What was your insurance difference like? Cheers.

You may be lucky and find someone with a MK3 who wants to get a MK4... Why not put up a trade post in the wanted section? By the way, I like both so it's a tough call!!

Yeah I know my mileage is against me but it's got the full works on service history. New Toyo T1R's Weitec Coilovers fitted in Oct 08, so suspension is new! Not had ANY trouble with the car! You might see me posting in here sometime in the future ;)

Yeah maybe, I will have a good think over the weekend and see if I fancy it!
