Hi guys

Just had my car remapped the other week, and now onto the next upgrade which is changing the Turbo Inlet Pipe to a forge one.

Has anyone attempted this by themselves? I have had a look at it and doesn\'t look all that difficult....but could i be wrong?

So just wondering if it can be done easily?

With the jubilee clip that connects the pipe to the turbo you may want to try and get one that opens slightly more as the new pipe is thicker
Mine was right on the limit and really had to force the pipe onto the turbo.
A small handled socket or flexible nut runner might be a good idea too

Its not very difficult and you can see pretty easy how it goes back together.
If you still have an OEM pipe on be careful as they have holes and slots that coolant pipes, etc are held to the pipe
I just carefully cut the rubber holding them in place making sure not to nick the pipes.
Or you could undo one end and pull the pipes back through if fancy doing it the hard way

i would go for a THS hose. i have felt both and have the THS hose. it is much stronger and reinforced than the forge one. not knocking either one but i know what i would go for. the full upper set of ths hoses and also the TIP. Could get all these for not much more than the price of just the forge TIP.

So is that to say that THS ones collapse like the OEM ones? Any reviews or proof on this? Naturally, I just want the best for my car but if THS and Forge are equal, I'll lean more towards THS as it makes buying a new DV more affordable.

I bought the ths tip for my remapped leon cupra and have to say that i can't fault it. It won't collapse under any circumstances imo, it's that stiff that you can't even squash it with your hands. Great value. Not used the forge one but researched both when bought mine from ths for £66 and i guy who had used every hose manufacturer you could think of inc forge said he settled for the ths one cause in his opinion it was the best.

a very bold statement to say you get what you pay for :). Could be interpreted in many ways.

The THS tip is not a copy or clone or any other garbage, it is a very well built hose at a very keen price.

The only reason mine has not been fitted yet is I smashed my left hand:happy: and its only just mended.

You get what you pay for says FORGE, well i interpret that as you are paying for the name on that one. along with many other overpriced bits. Sorry guys but just because your name has a good repuatation doesnt mean other products arn't as good or better. Price for the TIP is fairly high compared with the THS one which in alot of peoples opinions is as good if not beter and slightly better reinforced preventing collapse. Why get ripped off and pay double when you can have the same for less just for a name? SO YES YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

same as fashion brands. paying for a name... (and yes forge is known to be a good quality name) but i think you have some competition in the TIP/upper hose dept.

is it worth getting a new TIP on a standard car or is it only worth upgrading once remapped? I'll be getting a THS one when funds allow but won't bother if it won't be needed.
