Not plugged in the vagcom yet, somthing is definetly amiss as I was sitting stationary at some lights with my foot on the brake then felt the abs pump activate and then the light came on:shrug:

If i attend the london meet on sat i can bring 1552 with me to check it (that's if your in the cordy and if im there)

So, i made the work and read all teh pages...

Respect, not bad work at all. U can be happy to live in the UK, here you would be shot down before asking only one question :rifle:

You dont have somthing like technical test center u have to visit? Or some rules by making your own ram air system

Even normal open air filters are complettly forbidden here.. if i look to your pics, i have to shake my head again and again..

And taking material from parts of the brakes... oh my god, no technical expert here should read this, he would drop down dead

But nice project at all

Fortunetley in this country we dont hate the car as much as they do in Switzerland:)

No 'technical centres' here mostly a back street garage that will do the annual inspection to make sure its safe but can do pretty much what we like!

I know the removel of material on the brake's look drastic but its perfectly ok and never had any issues:)

Picking up where I left off from last year, its been while since I updated the thread!

Cadwell Park track day came and went but it wasn't without problems... started off with a niggling issue of it not wanting to start somtimes and it cutting out when coming to a standstill prior to the event, on the day I discovered the rad fans wern't working as it got a little warm idleing outside a McDonalds near lincoln:confused:

Got to the track ok and the first time out I thumped a kerb quite hard which gave me a whole load of negative camber and screwed the steering for the rest of the day(doh!). Also started from a lack of power too, where it was struggling to rev above 7k rpm and eventually called it day when I got out dragged by a citreon ax of all things down a straight:blink:

the lack of grunt turned out to be the least of a problems when the starting gremlins returned and when it came to leave the track it refused to fire up,

Couldent find the problem and had to order a tow truck and endured the journey from hell back down south where the car and myself graced 3 different flatbeds in the space of 10 hrs - turned out to be a fualty relay that had finally had it.

2009 saw the issue's being fixed and finally bit the bullet and sought out a place in Ashford to make a proper 4-1 exhaust manifold replacing the TSR item thats been on it for the past 2 years. Also deleted the sports cat too, not that there was much left of it

And finally.....:)

Stumbeld across these 1 yr old 8x17 et30 Compomotive MO's on ebay which went for a stupidly low price, so much so I think the seller musta cried when I handed over the cash!

Even though they were in excellant condition, I was yearning for a somthing a little different from black or white and chose somthing a teeny bit more colorful..........

Stu the car looks mean as hell in that first track picture. Mirrors and new rims look surprisingly good.

Nice wrapping on the manni as well. Lets hope 2009 treats us all gently car problem wise... ;)
