I'm having difficulty fitting an engine start button

hi everyone have searched the forums but cannot find the information i need can only find info on leons. and people who say they hate them. basically i have picked up an engine start button cheaply and want to rig it up myself, i have the plastics all out around steering column and all the wires out ready and now need more info than the instructions that came with it, have installed the button but now need to wire itt up and want to know if anyone else can help with the wiring before i start cutting wires.
has any one know how to do it or have any pics??

dunno if you can due to the imobiliser in the key

mat -you will still need the key in the ignition anyway, so the imobiliser will be ok

jakefoot - should be able to just wir it into the ignition barrel, like a fuse if that makes sense mate

i maybe wrong but it would go in series with the ignition barrel wouldn't it? just after the igniton barrel

to be honest i havnt had that much experience wiring things up, i have changed ignition barrels before but only on old tractors and is a completely different job
i have got the harness out from the back of the barrell and found the correct terminals the instructions said i needed but just am not sure how to actually wire it in properly and safely, im mainly stuck on joining and cutting wires as i dont want to cut the wrong thing or anything like that

sorry i was never sent a diagram with the kit and could not find one for the ibiza online.
the instructions i was sent were very basic and say that from the relay black wire should be earthed (which i can do easily need no help with that). one of the green wires connected to terminal 15 and the red wire to 15 also, and the other green wire to terminal 50.
i want to wire it up so that position 3 on the key becomes useless and only starts with the button for security reasons.

yes, its a bit of a pointless thing really, as you still need to put the key in and turn it then press the start button

i didn't really explain that rite lol

what i should have said was i know you have to have they in but after you've put the key in for the ignition and then turned it to deactiate the imobiliser or does it do this just when the key is insterted? and then put it after the ignition barrel if that makes more sense

but your average thief wouldn't know that though, so it does have some practical use

i prefer the toyota block and renault card system to a key anyday (when it works that is)

yeah keyless is much better, as long as it not got too large a range, as if your key is in the house, could mean the cars imobiliser is deactivated on the drive

my bro has a megane 225 (before that had a megane 1.4). both new shapes with cards.

amount of times he's lost his key card because you don't have to actually put it in the slot LMAO

it is wired through the back of the barrell and you have to turn the key to position 2 ~( turn ignition on ) and then press button to staart engine, the button works as position 3 to crank the engine to start itsd just joining the wires up that i need advice on does anyone know of any one who has done it on this forum befor or has any experience with linking them up???

should be as easy as cutting and re-joining the wire from position 3 hook them up solder or get a proper conneting clip if you want. just make sure its insulated and it should work.

like said a little bit pointless because you still have to use the key aswell but there somthing satisfing about a push starter plus it looks cool to your mates.

soldering is not an option as i have no iron at home and cant get to work as im off a while as i broke my wrist and cant go back until cast is off have got electrical connections at home but want to know exactly how to wire it before i do it, not sure also about putting two wires into the one terminal as it could short it out, as i said before not much experience wiring and am worried about doing it wrong
