My bloody wife has been to McDonalds and put the coke into the cup holders and obviously some has spilt out and resulted in some of the buttons on the stereo and climate control to be 'gunged and hard to press'. I am bloody raging....She has the car for 5 mins and recks it.
Any top advice for 'freeing' the buttons from its sticky death??

Cheers

Dear SereMotors,

I have just joined as a member and noticed when searching for answers that you seem to be very efficient in answering peoples seat queries. I have a 2001 1.9 alhambra and am having a couple of problems that dont effect driving but are annoying none the less.

The first is that the light which shows on the control panel indicating that one of the doors is open is constantly on even though all the doors are closed. I hvae narrowed this down to being a problem with the rear passenger door.

The second problem is that the interior lights keep shorting out the fuse. I have changed the fuse numerous times and they work for a while but then go agan. However, I have noticed that when they are working the interior boot lights and front foot well lights remain on even after the car has been turned off and locked. Im guessing that this is what then causes the fuse to keep blowing.

I hope you dont mind me seeking you out but as I said it appears that you are very diligent about suggesting answers to peoples queries.

Thanks - Patrick.

Welcome to SCN :)
Like the other members, glad to help where we can.
Without going too deep, first thing to check is the door contact switches. Usually the little rubber covers come off and water gets into the contact plunger causing all sorts of silliness. Worth a look ;)
