I bought a seat leon L/C bout 1 year ago from an indapendant car deale in sheffield,

The car was an ex lease car.

I have recieved a telephone call from previous owner advising of a recall on the
leon to do with water entering drivers door and into footwell,

So i rang ted johnson to advise them of this and that im the new owner them being the local dealer n all only to be told that i need a letter to get the recall work done.

Surely to god this recall should be on seat/ted johnsons system,
Anyways i foned the car dealer up who advised me of no letter just phone call.

So back to ted johnson i went by phone but only once again to be told the recall cannot be done... I work at a car dealer and we get recalls all the time and we do them regardless of still having the letter or not as all details on a system.

To top this off i went for a rear wiper to be fitted which i purchased myself as couldnt get my old one off for love no money and the TD guy fooooking broke my rear wiper arm....

How bads that???

I wouldn't go there if i was you and if you've read this!!! stay clear.

Useless and seem generally clueless!!!!!

1.8T MK2 Conversion
theres one parts guy that is really helpful, when i did my 1.8T conversion he helped me cross reference part numbers, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me out.

youngish guy, the rest of them seem a bit older and didnt seem too interested in what i was doing and ordering parts for me and what not... also when the younger guy was there the parts desk stayed open until its advertised 5.30pm... everyone else seems to just sack it off early, i went at 4.30 once and theyd gone home!?

Hi Ricardo

I have checked into this with my parts department, Tristan remembers this order clearly as its an unusual parts order, he left a message on your mobile when the part came into stock, after no response he also sent an email and again no response. The part is still in stock gathering dust!

Whilst I accept we don't always get things right despite our best attempts, in this instance we are confident that we correctly ordered the part and attempted to contact you that the part was in stock!

We obviously get no financial gain from ordering non stock items and having them sat on a shelf!

I'm sorry this didn't work out for you but many SCN members use us for parts purchases without hitch.

Regards

there would not have been a message left on the mobile number given because the answer machine is not turned on! (so this is a blatent lie). As for an email response i am inclined to say this is also untrue as i regularly check my email accounts and check the junk filter too in case something goes in there by mistake! i also needed the part quickly as my car wasn't on the road due to this part being needed so again i doubt any kind of communication wiuld have been ignored!

as you can imagine i had to get the part from another dealer in the end due to whatever fault the miscommunication was down to!
however the fact that you have now tried to blame customer ignorance on an order fail is downright unacceptable!

If it wasn't for the fact that servicing the Leon FR or any warrenty work is only feasible at your dealership that would have been taken elsewhere also! Given your work on that car has been good so far is a plus point to yourselves. i do suggest that customer service skills are brushed up on however as it is outrageous to blame the customer without having true facts to hand (ie a message on an answer machine that has never once been turned on in the years the phone has been active).

Hi Ricardo

Thanks for your response, As you say this order was over 12 months ago and we are trying to recollect events from a long time ago! Tristan is adament that he tried to contact you several times without response. The facts are that the parts were ordered and came into stock and are still in stock!!

We will eventually write the parts off our stock as aged parts and so it is a cost to our business, if as you say we failed to contact you then I appologise for that. Although a simple phone call or email from you to check if the parts had arrived in stock would have resolved this situation.

We now have many hundreds of SCN members using us for parts supply since we set up the SCN/Ted Johnson discount scheme. Tristan does a great job in updating the parts enquiries on a daily basis and posting out the orders. Alot of the work he carrys out on SCN does not generate into orders but it is a service we offer. ie we take the rough with the smooth and swallow the cost.

Many members appreciate the service we offer and the feedback has been brilliant, in this instance for one reason or another it has not worked but even with the large number of SCN orders we process this is a very rare occurance.

I am glad that you found that our service and warranty work on your Leon FR has been good and hopefully that will continue, if you are due in in the future give me call and I will try and sort something out to compensate for the mix up.

Regards
