which pads - ferrodo's are crap when cold

I originally bought a pair of ferrodo pads which are great when they have been warmed up, however, i dont tend to drive the car like its stolen, so i need something that is good when cold

the stock pads are much better at cooler temps, but obviously suffer from fade at high temps.

what options do i have ? or is it stock only?

i'm not looking to spend a fortune either ....is badger bill still the cheapest option to get these?
I also need new discs too

ds2500`s? i found these as good as stock pads when cold if not better.

if your not using the extra braking capacity the pads give you why not stick to stock pads?

I have two sets of ferodos. I found the regular DS pads are good for road use and dont fade when i give it some. and the DS2500 i fitted for track days and Nurburgring.

This means im not buying a tonne of regular ds pads and my ds2500 stop me well on track.

Are you running stock disks?

I found grooved disks helped with the cold feel, gave them a bit more bite.

I'm also running stock disks until I upgrade and expect them to be even better.
Maybe your Ferrodo's have not been bedded in correctly?.

i think you have hit nail on head tho...

but like i say, i drive pretty sensibly these days, so need something that performs well at lower temps

Regarding the discs, is it really worth getting upgraded discs? (considering the above)

Most people don't upgrade there discs, they buy cheaper EBC ultimax or CR discs.
So the cheapest option for you is CR discs and DS2500 pads

I'v just fitted new O/E frint discs with DS2500 pads and Dot 5.1 fluid and they work very well when cold and even better when warmed up.
