Hi all.

Ive got the mk 2 fr 170 and really was shocked how quick it was for standard diesel. About 3weeks ago i got the stage 1 revo remap, i have enjoyed it so much i cant explain.

As standard i produced 199.9bhp and 303.5t
As stage 1 i "Predict" 220bhp and 330t

Now i would love 300bhp but not 100% sure the internals would handle it.

So my question is what do i need to buy and how much/were from would i need for a stage 2.?? Now im thinking i need an exhaust a full thru from manifold to back box but has miltek or any1 designed it with the dpf removale yet??

All help is apreciated.

Thanks matt

Just a quick edit.... Ive looked thru a few pages of readers rides and i havent seen any one mod an FR 170, are they not popular??

So your car was standard and produced almost 30hp above the std quoted figure? How did it manage that, I know that the pd usually produces a little more than std quoted figures but nearly 30hp!
I would think for 300hp you would be doing the following
Hybrid turbo £1200
Bigger injectors £500+
Cat and dpf removal with different exhaust £350
Modded intake £100
Custom remap £500
Single mass flywheel with uprated clutch £1000
Possibly different intercoller £350
Possible peloquin diff to put the power down £750
About 5k then, would of thought the internals would be fine question is for how long though.

Im not sure how/ Most of the 170's produce in the 190's as standard anyway i just got the high 190's. If you want the print out that amd done i can show you it???

Seems a lot of money for 80bhp. I really need a CERTAIN answer on the internals really as i dont want to do all the work for it to go bang and then have to start up-rating all internals. I ll start with aiming for 250/60hp.

There weren't many tuners doing the PD170 as the DPF was causing them issues with clogging and tripping the emissions light. There is a lot about this over on Briskoda from those wanting to tune the Octavia II VRS PD170. At one point, the only tuner for quite some time doing a remap for these was Superchips. Good to see Revo have now released code to market though. This might be why you don't see many tuning the 170's. The 140's don't have a DPF and so were more favoured by the tuners initially.

Not an expert on the 2.0 PD170, but I know Devonmikey boy was getting comfortably past 300bhp from the 2.0 PD140 in his A3 (using diesel, nitrous, propane, coal, etc etc).

You might want to read through some of his posts/threads in the TDI tuning section.

Internals are good for 300 bhp so no worries there. First thing you need to do is remove the DPF and find somebody to write you a custom map so the car runs without the DFP. There are no uprated injectors for the PD170 so for more fuel your either be looking at a propane or water/methanol kit.
