dv leak

can anyone give aid...i've just remapped the ecu,now when i use vagcom it tells me boost pressure valve malfunction,ive tested it and it appears ok,i also read the the dv can cause this fault,ive removed it and the only leakahe i can see is from small vacuum pipe to charge port...this doesnt sound right to me cos if the vac pipe is leaking to charge pipe the the dv will never work properly would it???...the vac pipe should be in vacuum...am i right in thinking this and is a dv replacement on the cards?

only the standard,i can physically blow through the vac port into the charge port,this would mean that the charge prot is holding the dv open all the time..yes?

The standard bosch DV is notoriously poor. If you've just remapped I'd be getting a quality one from Forge or similar, the 007p is among the most popular on the forum.

yep,when i first mapped it,it was like an hooligan,now the dv leakage and im a bit scared of giving it some ..ive seen the forge ones,ive even been chatting to a local technic place,they sugest a dual type,recirc at low revs and atmospheres at high revs,also,any feedback on the cheep alternatives on ebay?

Forge do a dual type which basically recirculates some of the charge air and releases some to give the noise, full atmosphere at any revs will be hated by your engine management.

Personally i'd rather pay a bit extra and have one i know is a quality product more than capable of doing its job. At the end of the day its their to protect your turbo

true,thing is,my need is now,ive tried all the local shops but no one has them,i need one now cos mines had it...the only performance shop that was around here shut down years ago...so even if i ordered one online it would probably be wednesday ish by the time i got it.do you think as long as im steady i wont damage anything?

theres no guarantees but driving steady will definately be better than hammering it, also a cheap one off ebay will still take as long to arrive

Personally I'd go for the 007p over the Split-r but there is hundreds of threads on the subject so have a little read before you decide.

s off a ibiza cupra...itl do for a couple of days...at least it dont leak like mine..i feel safer,i picked it up local....drove down but i was starting to get worried,it was full of dead spots,so,i put it on as soon as i had it in my hands,cured.well,still seems a little lumpy on tickover but now it catches pigeons again...the lumpyness could be a coil going down???..i'l let you know

If you have an erratic idle, I'd be thinking about changing the vacuum hoses. Vacuum leaks are one of the main causes of lumpy/unstable idling and you'll be losing power because of it if this is the case. It'll cost less than £10 to replace rubber with silicone vac hose.

right,ive ordered the vac hose,will do that at same time as dv...ive also cleaned the throttle body today and reset it in vagcom...it appears to have made a difference.....getting there
