Removing engine cover

How do i remove the engine cover

I want to spray it

am thinkikng gloss black with the inlay part the same colour as the car

but i am wary of removing it myself

is it just a case of taking out the 4 plastic bolts and lifting it off?

Sorry to hijack your thread, but i want to know how to remove the engine cover on my V5, it's the old type with the red ignition leads across the top.

hope this thread is not a joke! but what the hell...you should have 3 or more 10mm nuts that just unscrew and then pull the cover off being mindful of the dip stick. not sure about the v5 though mate

Some of are not up on there car knowledge hence why they come on forums like this to ask questions

Not sure on the 1.8, but on the V5, unclip the leads from the cover and pull the HT leads away from the Spark Plug. Undo 5 or 6 hex bolts and it will come off. The V5 comes in 3 parts.
