Remote Locking...

Hi, im new. Just brought a 1.4 ibiza 2001 and the remote locking isnt working, so i tried the instructions i found on here and it seemed to be working when the light flashed five times but the doors didnt lock/unlock. I tried it about 30 times but no luck so i took the key into some shop and the guy tested it and said it was carrupt or incrypted, one or the two. Can you help, What does this mean and does it mean i need to buy a new complete key. Many Thanks.....

does the CL work ok using the button on the inside of the drivers door?
Which light flashed five times?

If it works off of the interior button, and just not using the key-fob, have you tried re-coding it using the instructions in the manual?

did you make sure you took the key out the ignition before you pressed the buttons

i have a 1.4s and i was wondering do they all come with remote central as when i bought the car i was only given a standard key no buttons .... any ideas?

hi atlantia, yer it locks when you press the button on the drivers door and i did try the instructions to reprogram it. when programing the key, the key flashed five times but did not lock the doors to confirm it worked as its suposed to, as im aware. cl does work.

i took the key out the ignition and followed the instructions and the key flashed five times but nothing happend after that.

hello mate i have exactly the same problem with my 1.4, its beginning to annoy me. i also have tried the guide on SCN and re-coding from the manual. . . . . please please please help us bound by the shackles of faulty CL

yeah i know mate, its really annoying me and doesn't look good when you have a nice car by have to use the key ! i really hope someone has a get out of jail free card for us

holy s***, i know its like 1 in the morning but i ve cracked it. go through the steps as explained by many SCN members, (however i got it to work by searching through the MK2 problems for advice) on the first steps of putting the key in the ignition and turninng the red ignition lights on and waiting 5 seconds. you have to put the ignition lights on (but as soon as they come on, whip the key out ASAP) then press the buttons tilll they flash and . . . . . oh yeah mofo, success
