HID Replacement bulbs

Finally had one of my bulbs go on my hid kit which i bought from hids4u in 2006, and looking for a replacement. I no hids4u do them but they are £35 EACH (a new whole kit is £95) but also seen them on ebay for £26 ish for 2 bulbs, anyone got any experiance with ebay bulbs or should i just get the bulb from hids4u ?

My drivers side headlight has gathered some condensation
Ive read how to get rid of it by using Silica gel (sachets you get with new trainers) or leaving lights on but now having trouble getting the headlight cover itself off. Its a strange shape star head..

Any ideas on the correct tool / head to use ?

whichever kit you buy they all look the same so are probably made in the same factory. Have you tried swapping the ballasts over to eliminate them. It's a bit strange how the bulbs has gone, there's nothing to blow in them.

paid £178 for the kit back in 2006, not tried the ballast yet as i have fitted them ontop of the crash bar so without removing the bumper i cant get to them, will get a multimeter on them later to confirm if it is the ballast

Not trying to annoy you, but what are you going to check with the multi meter, the overvolting from the igniter will toast your multi meter - and give you a bit of a turn, the "bulb" is not a filament device - the intense light output comes from the arc across the arc gap - so its always looking like an open circuit.

ahh right that was going to be my next question do they work same as a 12volt system, ill swap the bulbs over tomorrow and give it a test, thanks for the advice

I got a replacement HID off ebay think it was 20notes + delivery at 3 quid. Brilliant cant fault it one bit! that good i bought a spair.
