Service Interval

Hello all,

Doesnt the FR Leon have a service indicator that gives variable servicing like other VAG products do?? I have seen on here that people are saying servicing is 10000 miles or 12 months.

There is an indicator but I think its a simple count down to roughly 12 months or 10K miles.

No option for variable servicing as far as I know.

The Leon is physically capable of running variable servicing as far as I know, but SEAT UK don't offer it

The VAG long service interval (every 20k) would be very good for me, but i'm keeping to the SEAT service schedule even though my car has covered over 70k in 28 months

Another 2 1/2 years and it'll be upto 150k and will be sold to the scrap man and it'll be time to start all over again :funk:

From what I read on the TT forum people on the variable servicing (which is now standard) that is up to 19K miles are still needing a service at 12 months and 5K or whatever they've done. Also Audi have now spilt the service and oil change into 2 different service each on a different countdown timer so it is possible you would need an oil change at say 13K and a service at 15K.

The best I've has is Vauxhall that was 20K or 12 months whichever was soonest.

To be honest its all a bit of a farce. Ford decided to change the service intervals on the Focus part way through so mine went 10K, 20K, 36K as it was 10K intervals and they changed it to 12K meaning the third one was at 36K even though that meant 16K between services.

My A3 has only needed servcing about every 18-20k on variable servicing, so it obviously does work. It is odd having a car with 60k on the clock that's only been serviced three times though!

Off topic sorry, how long was that after? Was it still a service every year?, or could you leave it longer?
