Back from the 'Pod and done some runs. First time I've done anything like this, and strangely, my second run was my fastest

14.6 @ 96.8mph

Weather was pants, and we called it a day at 12 due to snow. If I go again on current set up, I'll be aiming for 14.2/14.3!

Will get more pics up of the days events soon

Was a VXR you raced was it? As that would have tashed you surely?

As for the weather, I heard it was perfect weather in the morning for runs? Cold (intake temps) wind was blowing you down the strip (rather than against you) and by 10am (time f your run) the sun had come out to warm up the sticky stuff again.

Id say your time was spot on for the power you have, unlikely to beat it unless you have less weight, more power and/or slicks.

Think it was a VXR. 99% sure it had VXR brakes anyway. That's all I remember looking at. Seeing the size of the brakes and thought it must have serious power.

Think I need less weight next time (no passenger seat ;))

First "race" of the day. Me vs Tom. Been about 2 weeks worth of hype for this race. Two "1/4mile virgins" LAMO

DSC01750.jpg

Me in a petrol 3dr, with approx 190bhp and 230ft lb.
Tom in a DERV 5dr, with approx 170bhp and 280ft lb.

Who was going to win?

ME!!!

I honestly thought he would TBH. Was close, not got the slip, so will guess there was about half second in it?

(Tom: correct me if any of the figures are wrong)

Another random one of mine

Yeah loved it. Cant wait to go down again. Hopefully break into the 14's. Will deffinately run the smaller wheels with deeper profiles next time. Was really strugglign for grip in first and second.
Reckon deeper profile tyres at 20psi might crack it.
