I bought a TDi mod which arrived for my cupra today, fitted it in and definately noticed a difference. I'm getting alot more power low end and my mpg has improved quite a bit too ...i know alot of you guys dont particularly think its a good idea or a good buy,but just wanted to ask y?? A remap will be going on soon but this seems good for the time-being. It sems to have boosted bhp/torque/mpg...any comments??

yep likely. your seeing better mpg on the computer as its mis-reading, its very unlikely to be better.

The TDUK red box and green box are very well thought of on the Vauxhall forum. the 1.9 150 CDTI engine goes from 150 to 200 with a green box 
Maybe it's due to the Vauxhall 1.9 being common rail and 16 valve

I still can't figure out what you have done.
Was it a resistor box?
If it was anything adding any real power your gonna need a new clutch on the TDI Cupra.
The only thing they can do is alter the readings sensors give to the ECU, and a resistor is the most basic way to do this. So they can't be as good as a remap as a remap does so much more. And if a 'tuning box' was as good as a remap, why would people bother with remaps?
Because of the reasons you just condem them all to hell with out trying them. The fake ones that are just resistors in a box.
And what does a remap do? Change the very basic settings of the engines computer. Take the normal sensor readings and change the calculation. Tuning boxes, the real ones, take the sensor readings run them through a calculation, then send back different readings to have the same effect as remaping an ecu.

What i was getting at was the boxes only connect into the fuel temp sensor so hence can only make them chuck more fuel in. A remap increases boost a little to compensate for the more fuel going in leading to a better result.

I've seen many remaps do, much more.
I'd do a remap instead. This chip would only increase things such as economy by a maximum of a few mpg - You want to drive it harder to feel the increased power anyway, so it'll actually drop by, 1or 2mpg on your spirited run.
I just think if your going to do it, do it properly. Hence why I haven't done anything to my old, or new car because I would want to do it properly.

^^^^^^^^^^^As said, nobody on the Astra forum bothers with a remap, They all use the TDUK red box or green box
They say the 1.9CDTI 150 with a green box will keep up with a VXR
Also there is a factory tuned Astra 1.9CDTI called an "888" these come from the factory with a green box fitted and the official spec is 197 BHP.
I have no idea what's inside a green box but They cost over £300 and they work a treat
Just don't tell my fleet manager cos she won't be very happy.
