Zero tolerance...then i guess i was lucky gettin an infraction point and a warning.
I can understand the rules, i am not stupid but can i ask how can something thats said on a different site be a contradiction to the rules on this forum? Or maybe i am stupid as i cant see how it can be justified. Am i allowed to ask this or am i now gonna get banned too?

I think some people should brush up on the t&c's of other popular social networking sites because you can easily be reported there too.

Your justice will always be incoherently different to ours. What you think is justified, we might not.

But as site owners we have the job of managing this place and if necessary metering out what is required. The trouble we have is people metering out their own level of justice!

I'm not here to hold grudges, or tell people how to live their lives but at the end of the day SCN is what is of primary concern to both me and m0rk. We feel that it's gone downhill because some individuals can't get along in an adult way.

We don't enjoy excluding people, myself and m0rk are not egotistic people who relish the chance to ban people every day. We have careers and families we care about and one of the other things is this site and forum.

This isn't about individuals, it's about this forum and it's moral approach to some pretty unsavoury conduct by some members. I'm not really bothered what you think about me or m0rk, we put ourselves in the firing line by doing the things that others find difficult to do. Our concern is this forum and group and we feel we have to take steps to make people realise were unhappy about this.

To further comment, you can trawl the rules as much as you like on SCN, but the buck does stop at Z & my doors, so IF you're going to complain to a 'higher power' I can't see where / who will listen.

You won't get banned for asking sensible questions, asking inflammatory questions / slagging off 'SCN' or creating groups to slag off SCN / members of SCN will certainly raise your profile towards meeting the end of our tolerance.

Guys well said i can't say anything that hasn't been brought up already,

This is a car forum after all, the banter and socialising is just an extra bonus to us all.

I find it very helpful and i too contribute all i can with what i know.

Keep up the good work guys.

(e-humper is my new phrase)

I have better things to do than trawl the above said rules. I feel an accusation in your remark. Slagging off SCN/creating groups to slag off SCN. I can assure you i am guilty of neither issue.
And we all know where the buck stops.....and that their is no HIGHER POWER than M0rk and ZBoyd.
As said i was asking a sensible question :D

Yes we have better things to do than explain them to people who can't comply to what is in essence just some guidelines created to make the forum a pleasure for people to use.

However if folks would rather we just scrap them, let people get away with whatever they like then within a few days this forum will be dead and buried, its a guarantee.

If you want this forum to descend into anarchy and complete irrelevance go right ahead, be my guest. I'm sure many people would not be too happy with us doing that, but maybe we should give it a go...what do you say forum members?

To my mind slagging off this forum (or its members actions on SCN) elsewhere is a sure fire ticket for becoming persona non grata on SCN.....

I have noticed one individual has been chancing his luck in the Scottish Section who I now believe was banned and has re-registered. PM will be going out to Z after I hit the post button on this to make him aware.

zboyd, m0rk, please don't get disheartened by the actions of a few.

I'm sure the majority of the forum users will agree with me in that the two of you plus all the other 'staff' do a great job here. I visit a few forums, but SCN is my where I spend the majority of my time and is a place that I would miss greatly if it disappeared.

I think some people forget this is a free forum built up to what it is today (number 1 seat site) because of the work ZBOYD and m0rk and many others (new mods) put in, In THERE own FREE TIME. Also It pisses me of when they have to lay the law down and people still bitch at them insinuating they are power hungry demons, having meet both Z and m0rk I can tell you they are down to earth friendly people. This site has grown because of how it's run. :D

Z and M. total and absolute support. Its a car forum and a bloody good one.

Dont really know the ins and outs of this but some stuff ive read elsewhere seems very nasty. SCN is known for its 320bhp prefacelift leons ;) . I`d hate it to become known for its judgemental bullies.

Keep up the good work guys:)

Been watching this thread for a bit and keeping quiet but I have to say, this forum has been very good to me and a lot of others, it has rules just like life and just like life if you break them then there has to be punishment! The Mods ALL do a great job for FREE and they make this place what it is! If anyone has a problem please could they go elsewhere so we can get back to the important stuff, cars, chilling, chatting and most of all sharing our passion for Seats!

Have read the whole of this thread and i just cant understand why a few decide to go that bit too far.....I havent been a member for long but if i have had a question that needs answering its done so pretty bloody quick...without the people with this knowledge it would be a worthless place to be.....I used to be a volvo T4 driver and was a member of there forums/club and they had to close down the forums for a few months because off people using it as a way of attacking either business' or people....i for one hope that it does not go this way.....Keep up the good work chaps

Once again, I feel the need to force this thread to be read

We've started to notice the decline again, and will likely be take some more extreme action to resolve this & remove offenders.

It is beig a while since I logged to SCN

I'm very glad to see action like this being taken

this trend seems to happen on multiple public forums, just because people hide behind a computer some feel like they can say anything, many of the comments they will likely not say to the face of other people

well done
