Has any one ever changed or had their map sensor changed? if so how much did it set you back and also was it just the sensor you had to buy or was it the whole unit?
Cheers sam

the sensor itself screws off, with two bolts/screws.

you can buy the uprated pipe for it in 60mm or 64mm from forge, but this doesn't include the sensor.

The MAF is the black unit in the engine bay that is fitted between your airbox/filter and the turbo inlet pipe. The MAP sensor is situated in the intercooler pipe down near the passenger wheel arch/bumper.

For a MAF try your local GSF or Euro Car Parts dealer, they should do an exchange on your old unit for around £60-£70.

Just right of the manifold, between the 2 blue pipes going to airfilter

in this pic just next to the airfilter (black thing)

its held on by 2 clamps, and you have to unplug it.

But why do you think its broken or needs replacement btw?

Sure, its the most common thing to fail on these cars a long with the coilpacks but still...

Had i on the diagnostics said it was a faulty MAF sensor, my sensor looks different to them also i have no air filter so it is just in the standard place. ( down and left of the engine?)

what??

firstly, if you don;t have an airfilter then I would seriously get one quick. If you mean you have the standard airbox, then its still located there. There is no other place.

secondly, what code did you get exactly, because I don;t know the code "MAF faulty".

here is another pic of it close up:

it will always be there. maybe yo don;t have an aftermarket TIp fitted, so the blue hose would be black

what? again not true. The map sensor is the black pipe I showed in the pic above. It is held on with 2 clamps between intercooler chargepipe iirc (or is it between intercooler and throttle?)
anyway, its not connected to your manifold.

I am still unsure if they are talking about the MAF or MAP sensor?

First the thread was called MAF and now MAP sensor?
