Lost wipers.....

Evening lads, anyone got any ideas why my wipers stopped working? Would it be the fuse (if so, which one) or is it more likely a blown motor or relay.

Any ideas would be great as its no fun driving sub 30 with no vision............

(its a 2000, V5 )

might be an idea to check the fuses,,, will be in the handbook which 1... not sure if the wiper motor fuse is also a fuse for something else but find out if it is, check if that works... theres an answer to if its a fuse without actully checking the fuse

if its not the fuse id check continuity at the fuse box, then at the motor, that shoud tell you if there is a break in between that circuit if theres a reading then id think about really etc or a broken motor.... not the most technically but electrics never has been my strong point

When your wipers stopped working were they upright or down in their normall "off" position?

My wipers died recently and it was a fault with the gears in the wiper motor. Basically my wipers stopped in the upright position and wouldn't go back down. I could push the wipers down by hand when they were turned on. The wipers would then move up by themselves and stop again.

I changed the whole wiper motor and linkage. I'd say it's a fairly easy job as all you need is a socket wrench and a screwdriver. The hardest part is removing the wiper arms as they tend to seize on. Gently pulling them worked for me after first soaking them with WD40.

Yay lol Fixed it. Problem was I didnt know where the fuse's were hidden; once we'd located them, I took relevant fuse out, wasnt blown, put it back in and fecking thing worked. So hoping it was just not pushed in tight enough............... now I can see.. lol
