Removing interior plastics

Don't think haynes have published a manual for the leon yet, so was wondering if anyone on here had successfully removed the plastic that fronts the climate control cd player etc? I just don't like the grey colour of mine at the moment, thinking about either getting it colour coded in black magic or gettin someone to make a carbon fibre mould that'll replace it.

NOT A FAN OF THE VINYL WRAPS!!!

the plastics are part of the actual radio and climate control controls/vents if you know what i mean.

If you take the radio out, it will give you access to the screws, then you can take it apart and see.

Thanks dan, i'm going to fit a new head unit soon so when that's out i'll have a browse and see how it's held in. When you say attatched... do you mean they will be clipped? Bsically want to spray so need them taking out the car!...as i think spraying them in the car could get messy!!

Well i'm just waiting for some other parts to arrive then I'll be painting the centre console and also the gauge pod in a gloss black/ black magic! Finished off with the chrome rings for the dials and air vents. Shall post when done!

I got the idea/website for the carbon trim from here
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=182198&highlight=carbon+trim
price is around the £220 mark deliverd fron U.S. Realy should have ordered it when the pound was stronger but too impatiant. Im not going to fit the centre console pieces because I want to paint it all gloss black so if anyone wants to make me an offer?

...yes, but it is only a layer, not a real carbon fiber material...i think it wouldn't look to good...

from what ares says and the pictures it does look real all be it stick on layers, but im only putting on the pieces that cover the same areas as the standard seat interior kit plus door handle surrounds and all the hideous plastic underneath the centre console.

How on earth do you unscrew the little screws at the top of the Climate control unit ??

How do you get at them ?

looks to me like its clipped in not screwed.
