Facelift 2003 cupra bhp choices?

I am interested in getting a 2003 cupra but believe different bhp options are available, 180, 210 and 225 is this correct and what are the optional extras that were available on this model?

cupra was 180bhp only
cupra r was 210bhp or 225bhp depending on the year it was built; 03 would get you a 210bhp.

Or you could go to the darkside - 150bhp Cupra diesel. One of the very first ones.

how have you got your cupra to 320bhp. thats exactly where i want mine in the next 6 months. got mods lined up but wondered wot path you have taken?

IHI VF23 turbo conversion with all the bits etc. be 3years in july without issue and it was at 80k so its a good advert for the strength of the engine.

Thanks for the replies, is there any visual way of telling apart all the different bhp models, as the adverts on autotrader don't differentiate?

Many Thanks, I have spied that thread before, but is there anyway I could tell from a picture of the car advertised what BHP it is?

the 225 has a red 'R' on the back and the 210 has a black 'R'. As far as I'm aware anyway!?

i thought the R was red on both, but the cupra badge infront of the R was as above

you need the engine code... everything else is cosmetic so could have been changed.

which one are you after? they both remap to the same figures if that helps?

I have heard that they both remap to the bhp, but am I right in presuming that the 180 doesn't chip to the same level?

Also does the 210 have anything else that is a lower spec apart from the BHP?

Look for the cupra R badge and red band on the steering wheel and the tear drop wing mirrors thats a 225!! 210's have mk4 golf mirrors and a normal steering wheel. The 180 cupra only says 20vt on the back and has different bumpers and wheels

Id say get a cupra. cupra r alot more money, and if your looking at going down traumapats route your gona have alot to spend!
the cupra will map to 215 poss a bit more with stage 1 software. get used to that an then go for the upgrades.

Teardrop mirrors are also on a some MY03 210 LCRs, the R is red on both 210s and 225s but the cupra is in black on 210s.
