He is fully aware who we are (think we need to thank Timthebrief for that), and he seemed really happy that we're backing him so enthusiastically.

I think SCN can consider itself "adopted" by Team CVR

What about me?

Does anyone think I would or could I be included in the support Colin (Neill) knows we have for his? I mean, I may not be able to drive for toffee but I support ALL teams who run SEAT Leons or Toledos like I was an owner of a SEAT; and that is with passion and with enthusiasm. In fact on btcc.net I am CVRFan09 and I have already long since signed up for the FanZone on the teams website.

This site seems to be predominantly orientated to motorsport fans who back SEAT who actually happen to drive SEAT's. But not much is said about the fans who don't own SEATs or don't even drive. I think more recognition of our support which we show with enthusiasm is needed. Because I think us fans of SEAT in motorsport who don't drive or atleast drive but don't own a SEAT are an integral part of the support. I was as dissapointed as anyone when I saw Jase' go off on the parade lap of one race at Croft and was as upset as anyone when I saw SSUK bow out at Brands Hatch.

Long live SEAT!

OK people, this is no wind up.

I received an e-mail from Colin Neill @ CVR at 13:01 today

The following is a direct cut and paste from the mail

"Hi Mike,

Happy New Year !!!

We have taken delivery of the first car, our engine for that is on its way to be converted to run E85, we have some quite exciting news to announce in the coming weeks.

Will keep you posted !

Many thanks,

Colin"

Good News all round

I was under the impression they made that statement back in November?

SCN won't publish anything unless were on their media lists and get proper press releases. An exclusive is not a post in the forum.

In november, they said "they were expecting delivery in mid-December"

I received a mail, from Colin Neill Himself, at 13:01, stating they now have the car on the premises, and that I could post this on the forum.

Expecting delivery, and physically having the car are very different

Seems fairly exclusive to me, sorry it wasn't through the admins that the forum heard it first.

40 minutes later, carbonzeroracings website was updated accordingly.

Forum doesn't get the news out to the wider populous like the website does. It's the reason we started the site and the reason we published all SEAT Sport's PR the same way.

Stuff posted on our website hits Google news inside 10 minutes, stuff posted in the forum will find it's way to the wider world but not as quickly.

But if that's the way they want to publicise their plans that's up to them I guess. We'll concentrate on SEAT as usual.

Not saying it is the way they wish to do things.

I have been in regular contact with Colin, and I asked him for an update, as there seem to be many doubters on the forum I believe you yourself posted earlier that CVR had been quiet, and we'd have to just wait and see who turned up.

If it has offended anybody that it is not through the admins, well I'm sorry.

I posted out of interest not doubt based on the fact nothing had been formerly reported at Autosport International so was asking an open question as to their apparent lack of news.

I'd very much like to see CVR on the grid as a very very long term SEAT motorsport supporter, but without some form of proper media outlet we won't report it where it would get the most coverage.

The day they went public, I dropped them an email & obtained a PR & images. Had a couple of emails from them then nothing.

Maybe they need to understand that people don't regularly check their website out (but they do ours)

Won't disagree with you there.

They've come so close in the past, looks like this time round, they're gonna make it, with a top quality car

Good news. But in this I see a possible short-term minor debate here. Over the last 3-4 months people, none thankfully on this forum as I recall, have been very scathing in their doubts about the competence of Colin (Neil) and his team like Doug Bebb and Richard Cronk to sucesfully get Clyde Valley Racing up and running as an official racing team ready to be registered into the BTCC for the 2009 season.

But what made people think their efforts to pull CVR together are any more easier than teams like Tempus and Tech-Speed? Even though both teams have sucesfully managed to get themselves up and running. Because it is just whilst every fan I think clearly expects teams to get themselves up and running, it seems to me, rightly or wrongly, ever so often some teams will have a certain amount of extra expectation placed on their shoulder to sucesfully get themselves up and running. And I think CVR was such a team.

Why was this so when it seems to me CVR faced overcoming exactly the same issues such as the logistical ones.

Eaves and Jones, fan-bl00dy-tastic line up

Just have to wonder what GR-Asia/Air Cool are doing then.

Will GR-Asia team up with SEAT Team Holland, (as per report on Autosport website) and run a car for Tom Coronel, or is that gonna remain one of those famous BTCC rumours????????

You will not find a member who agrees with you more!

I haven't had such a good day today. I do a voluntary job working in the local Age Concern office helping to tutor a group of adult learners in the internet and email and one of them doesn't seem to be able to grasp it. Also their been a lot of upheaval in the parental home. Everything that is possible to painted either has been or will be pained and we recently had all the carpets in the home cleaned.
But when I heard the news on the CVR website I was extatic. OK he ain't a world-class name exactly but in the BTCC I think with a good car under him he is very capable of picking up important points. I just hope the Bio-ethanol Leons prove as strong as the petrol Leon he drove lasy year.

I think a partnership with SEAT Holland with Tom Coronel in a Leon with the famous teeth on the front would be nice for fans who also follow the WTCC.

What a devastating combo that would have been. Yvan and Fab are without doubt the two strongest drivers I think VXR has ever had.

Just out of interest, I said on TouringCarTimes that I felt the Leon surely ought to be a faster bio-ethanol car than Team RAC's MG ZS when it did the final nine races of the 06' season with bio-ethanol as I personally, looking back over the results Rob and Colin achieved in the final nine races of that season, don't see any major improvement in the trend of results the team had in those final nine races. The speed may have improved but the results did not for me.

Does anyone think Dan and Adam will improve the times and overall performances set by Colin and Rob in the final nine races of the 2006 season when they're MG's were converted to bio-ethanol?
