i asked the same question on here just after i joined and i was pointed in the direction TA Technics coilovers....WHO ???? i'd never heard of them but i dont go on track and i just wanted them to make the car look better. They cost me £215 (i think) and do the job perfectley.

cheers ye i was looking through a few other threads and couldnt spot any clear favourites! really changing the set up as i find its a bit wallowy on the standard shocks on b-roads etc. think i want to go with a set of coilovers with either a progressive spring or a helper spring but not sure how cheap sets will perform!
is the spring weight set specifically for the model of car or do i buy a set which work up to a set axle weight and adjust the preload on the shock for my car??

I have Raceland coilover for 6 months, i bought it 189€, and i think it's so good for this price...

just had a look at the raceland coilovers, they look alright, bloody cheap! £169 on ebay! gotta be alright if they're certified?
What are the TA Technics coilovers like regarding the firmness?? Are they too hard or too soft??
Reason I'm asking is that Im thinking of upgrading to coilovers and I dont want anything too hard. Looking for something thats a good price and good quality.

There my first ever set so dont have anything to compare it to but the ride is loads better than the spax springs i have on my 8v. I am more than happy with them
How would you rate the stiffness of them?? Really hard or really soft or alright??
I have a set of uprated springs and dampers and they are quite hard.

I've got raceland in my cupra & they're great for daily driving for the price. They are firm but not harsh. When I first installed them I had them set a little high (still lower than standard) & they were very stiff/harsh to the point that my wife refused to ride in the car
After I lowered it some more (with the height keeper springs now off full compression) the car is far more compliant, & the wife is back in the passenger seat again.

They give the car a good stiff feel, If you go over a bump your defo going to know about it. At first they felt on the hard side but i guess i am just use to them now.
i got my TA Tecnix from ebay germany,£167 delivered,bargain!! delta mics spacers on the rear 20mm ones,as said i live in London so was more for looks than handling etc although i do find it's a bloody bouncy ride!! wondering if i should get some arb's/strut braces or something and if this would help matters??

if you're clever though you'll know polo ones don't work properly, physically they'll fit, but not work as a suspenson unit should

No, you posted 1 minute before me and was typing it out as you posted it.
I’ve never had any agro and they came recommended from guys on here, I had them fitted by a VW specialist and it sailed through its MOT….so no issues.

I find that Raceland offers an excellent compromise between price / quality / comfort / behavior!
I bought them brand new on eBay with German TüV certificate (quality security) and ratification for the Belgian inspection
I am very satisfied with it, obviously it is harder than of origin, but that stays very well! Very softer than V-Maxx for example...
