Milltek Turbo Back Query

I've got a Milltek resonated cat back at the momemt which gives a bit of a better noise but not significantly. I want to add the turbo back section as well, (which will give a useful performance increase I know), but does adding this do anything to the soundtrack?

Anyone done these mods in stages?

Yes - it makes it deeper and the turbo spool noise is louder

Sounds better again with the non resonated centre section

Agreed!! The noise is definitely better once you upgrade the downpipe and add it to the new catback section (I don't have the Milltek system on mines as its not available)
Like you I initially went with Catback first to see what it was like and whilst it was better than the OEM setup I eventuallly went for a new downpipe as well. Makes a nice burble at idle and it sounds good when you are giving it some beans.

Thanks. I've been in a car with the non-res and its too boomy for me at motorway speeds. I want something more than the resonated version but not as boomy as the non -res, looks like the downpipe and sports cat will do this.

Was the car you were in an FR or a Cupra and did it have the downpipe?

I have been in a Golf GTi with a non res Milltek TBE and I have one on my Cupra, and neither are boomy mate.

Mine is not boomy either, it is louder of course, but not boomy. Can still play music and talk at normal levels

It was a Golf GTI K03 stage 2+ with full turbo back, in normal driving it sounded great,it was just in 6th at I guess about 3k revs it was droning, not overly so just enough to irritate on a long trip as I do a lot of motorway miles it put me off. If I didn't I wouldn't hestitate getting one.

I've got the full Milltek Turbo Back Exhaust system, that was fitted at their development site (2nd car in the country after REVO's car was in)...mine sounds awesome, the power delivery to work alongside Revo's stage 2+ is excellent!
