Just ordered, and bought Bolt down coilpacks for my Ibiza Cupra as mine have packed in, thought I would get bolt-downs from my work @ VW. And they don't fit my 'AYP' engined Ibiza!

Got the part number on here, checked it at work, ok... they were fitted to TT's and some Beetle 1.8Ts. Got them, Part number 06B905115E and they are too SHORT! How do they fit some Leons and MK3 Ibizas I have seen on here, and they are about an inch too short for my car?

Well Pi**ed off.

Mine fitted perfectly. My push down ones never used to fit right though, thats why i switched to bolt downs in the end

There's got to be a serious reason why they're an inch short.........

(or your head/rocker cover is an inch taller than any other 1.8T..........)

Can you post a pic of the two types lying side by side?

they look about right to me, as the push down ones dont go all the way in anyway, do they?

But surely they are both for different engines, the longer one with the gripper ribs just lock onto the top of the plugs (groove in top of plug) and the moisture sealing ribs grip like sh*te to a blanket - so they stay in place, the bolt down ones do just that and rely on the top gasket to keep the moisture out. Different engine, but the BBY 1.4 uses the push down ones and only the pushdown ones. I'd watch using other variants as the last letter can mean a couple of things - either an upgrade of the same item or a totally different item which is not suitable for swopping with!

Ok yeh its NOT an inch as I corrected myself in a later message!

Once I compared them they are definately a different length, and could'nt connect to my spark plugs like the normal ones.

ANYWAY, I have fitted all the aftermarket parts on my car myself, including my GT28 turbo kit. I think I can handle fitting plugs and coil packs.

so you didnt attempt to fit them....

nobody is criticising your ability to swap the coilpacks...not that its actually difficult

but they would have fit fine, your car is no different from the rest of ours and we use them. its probably what was mentioned earlier, bolt down packs sit lower than the push down type.

so creating a thread that says the dont fit is misleading and wrong

but hey, if your cars running who givesa flying ****....i dont lol

I DID attempt to fit them, they did'nt connect to my spark plugs as they were too short. Anyway Its an individual post, I did go on to talk about my car and not everyones. If you don't care don't post then.

And not that your intrested but as a matter of fact my car isn't running well at all, thanks anyway.
