Done a search couldn't really find what I was looking for.

Recently had some trouble with my headunit (car killed 2 Sony's in 6 months) and I was just wandering what other people are using? - Just to see what is most popular.

I've got the Alana back in there just now and don't know what to do with it, should I keep it and get a "connects2" type adapter for the CD6 button or do I get another Headunit...

What Manufacturer?
Model Number?

Ideally I'm looking for somehting that is either Aux In and/or iPod compatible doesn't necessarily have to control the Ipod fromt the HU.

Thanks Guys.

I really don't know what was up with the Sony's, something inside the unit themselves that went bust.
- When they did go pop the doors locked at the same time.

Tested all the wiring/fuses and so on with MultiMeters and nothing was wrong.

Budget probably about £80? Don't need to do anything clever, I know this might sound a bit picky but i'd prefer the unit to have red lights to match the rest of the dash, makes it easy to blend in and not be too distracting at night.

Had a look at as many interior shots in here as I can, Alpine seems to be fairly popular...

I've had the same Alpine Head unit for 8 years now in 3 different cars. They last forever.

One piece of advice is get one with either an iPod or a aux in. I havn't put a CD in my car for 2 years.

I'd say if your car has 'killed' 2 head units in not much time then I'd be reluctant to put anything decent in it again until I'd checked the wiring for bad earths, scotchloks or other potential evils.

Once you have I'd be looking for an Alpine or Pioneer to fill that empty slot from one of the big cheapies like caraudiosecurity or caraudiodirect, once you've decided what kind of set up you're after.
