I'm sure I read somewhere that the subframe has to be removed in order to fit the lower strut. Sounded like a lot of hastle for very little benefit. You'd be better off spending your money on a rear ARB...it's something that i'll be considering soon :)

You just need to remove the lower engine cover, the front bolts from subframe arms, and install the bar.

You also need to make some chop on the cover to allow the brace to be fitted.

I've it, and more steering response under hard driving. Its a nice upgrade.

Cheers

Get a rear ARB and/or coilovers....they will make a MUCH more noticeable difference

A lower front strut brace is a nice complement to coils and arb (front & rear). You won’t be disappointed.

i got a lower and upper front braces, definately worth it ;) both just use bolts already present, just require removing to fit the braces and re-tightening;)
tightens up the front end and makes the steering more responsive
good cheap mod :D

got a VRS front ARB, that was a right b:censored:d to fit.
as said above, you have to detatch the sub frame to remove the old one and fit the new one

also got the jabba rear ARB (25mm thick), expensive but a good mod!
i think about 6 months later , Whiteline released their rear ARB (IIRC, 22mm thick) which is half the price at circa £100 ;)

I have seen it on Briskoda... its a big think green jobbie with fixed ends. Looks nice. The whiteline has droplinks to fit but is adjustable.

I have heard only good things about rear ARBs so it may be the way forward for me in the future...

gets rid of under steer, you will be amazed at how much it icreases handling :D and how fast you can take corners

also you might think that the extra 3mm diameter won't make that much difference.......

when i fitted the VRS front ARB (22mm) upgrading from the Sport ARB (18mm) :-o, i was really suprised how much difference it made.
all down to how much cash you want to spend really.
the Jabba one is a tad pricey at £200 :ban:

IIRC , the ARB is £55 - £60, but then you got to get it fitted.

me and a mate fitted mine, but he is a mechanic and knows his way around a car;)
don't think i would have tried doing it on my own

Skoda stealers then? My neighbour is a mechanic ;) so I take my car to him for anything that needs doing... usually for beer money too!
