right relocated the battery into the boot, god my new terminals today and then went to start it and 1) the immobiliser wont disengage and 2) there's an electrical sound coming from behind the dash, sounds like an internet connection (if that makes sense). and the ABS and handbrake lights are on but VERY dim

do i need to charge my battery and have another go?

any help much appreciated

Cheers
Chris

I apologise if this is basic and doesnt help at all, but have you tried locking/unlocking the doors before trying to start it?

Also, is the key fob remote programmed into the car? Might be worth re-programming it to see if it re-syncs with the immobaliser.

I take it all the normal electrical stuff works on the car, and it turns over but wont start? If so I reckon its just that disconnecting the battery has lost the immobaliser synching.

Ive found this link. When its just a remote key fob and no immobaliser you can follow steps to reprogram it but heres a link, seems you have to go into vag-com to do it.

Im not an expert mate im trying to help, hope the link is ok.

after 2 months id expect my battery to be flat in all honesty.
i dont think youve anything to be worried about, either jump start it off another car and leave it running/take it for a blast to charge it. or if your patient just leave it charging over night

i'm taking the over night option atm, there's not enough petrol to keep it cranking for a while

make sure its earthed properly, i had a friend who had alota problems and the earth was no good.

Definitely true. Make sure the earthing cable is connected to a very thick part of the bodywork with a very heavy duty bolt. And ensure the paint is stripped off to expose the bare metal at the point of contact, otherwise you wont get anything like a good enough earth.
