Its worth replacing them mate, while your there.

There are part numbers, price and place to get them from in the Parts list thread, have a look in there.

Nice one mate, cheers.

By the way does anyone know how to disconnect the suspension strut from the topmount on the mk3. Do you have to undo the three bolts around the black plastic topmount cover as the cover doesn't seem to come off as it does on the mk2?

Thanks in advance.

I couldn't get the cover to come off either. In the end I jabbed a screwdriver through it and levered it out.

I pushed the black cover back on afterwards, with the hole of the screwdriver pointing backwards so you cant see it. I couldn't get the cover to sit back as it did though but good enough...

i didnt bother but it is 'advised' to.

there is another little trick ... if you mash the plastic covers, look for the rubber boots that go over the rear suspension mounts in the boot..

these fit perfectly ;)

uhm....currently have no topmounts on my coilies oops.

I apparantly have the front springs for the earlier version biza (mk2) which are much more narrow. That means the bearings are too big to fit on the metal 'discs' on top of the springs...

Atleast this is what I heard, but noone's been able to confirm.

Now am wondering if I can buy seperate wider top springs for the front coilies to sort this.

Edit: or possibly buy bearings which are more narrow to fit the current discs on top of the front coilies??

anyone? (by no means do I want to hogg your thread :) )

im running AP coilovers.

fantastic (i think). a bit rough at lower speeds but once you get going it becomes much more settled.

you can get the rubber boots from a dealer (stealer), a crashed ibiza (mk2's have these boots aswell).

Reuvers

you have mk2 springs which require a different top mount, i would try and change this asap as its not safe to be running like that

so it is true...

guess I'll need the wider springs then and the discs to sit on top..hope I can find them somewhere sold seperately...

any of you seen this for sale anywhere by any chance?

cheers though adam

btw, its not making a difference in the drive to be honest. Its only 'clunking' quite a bit as the suspension is not moving on a smooth bearing when wheel is turned
